The Rise of the Spiritual Leader Volume 36

The Spiritual Leader 36

We are a nation and a world desperate for men and women of God to lead.  Today you begin or continue that journey.  As Joshua directed the people of Israel I also direct you, “Choose this day who you will serve.”  As leaders in this modern world we can be tempted to follow the latest fad or chase after money, fame or power.  Will you serve those idols or will you choose to serve the King of Kings and Lord of Lords?

Read Nehemiah chapter 11

The theme of chapter 11 is Leaders Must Lead

The stands are full of people cheering and jeering those that have the guts to stand in and lead.  God has called you to come out of the stands and join in the battle.  You are desperately needed.  As Princess Leia says, “This is our most desperate hour.”  We do not need whiners or complainers to coach from the stands.  We must risk, we must step out into the fray and lead.

When in charge be in charge.  Don’t be pushy but watch for a void in leadership and step in.  Then lead from the front.  Take up your position and charge into the evil of this world.  A man or woman led by God will dispel the darkness.  A warrior of Christ will win the fight.  Don’t hold back.

Nehemiah 11:1

We see the leaders move into the center of the political and Spiritual Action.  As leaders they rise to the occasion.  They step up and do what needs to be done.  When leaders take their role there becomes an ease of communication.  Not only the leaders need to take their God given roles but all mankind must step into their design.  This can only happen when leaders feel secure and allow others to feel secure.  Other benefits

  • Issues can be discussed openly from multiple angles .
  • Problems move away from blame toward solutions.
  • People of all stripes become generous.

These things can never happen if a leader tries to lead out of hate and fear.  When the Spiritual Leader rises and leads as Christ has called Him, love becomes the prime motivator.  It gets beyond “my way” or “your way” to becoming “God’s way”.

How can this happen?

Leaders are where they need to be, in the illustration in Nehemiah that is Jerusalem.  Where is it in your family, work, church or organization?  That will be where ever you can make the biggest impact.  Evaluate and analyze where that might be and go be there.  Let ALL of you be there.  It is tempting to attempt to be in multiple places at once.  That will make you ineffective.  Let your whole presence be with you.
