The Gospel Rescue Mission (GRM) was founded in 1931 in the heights of the Great Depression and the beginning of the infamous dustbowl. Ever since then GRM has been the Muskogee Area’s primary resource to help those who are struggling in the crisis of hunger, homelessness and hopelessness.
Matthew 25:35-36 has been the guiding message for the mission since it’s founding and is carried out each month through the serving 3,000 meals, clothing over a hundred individuals, and providing over 1,100 bed-nights to the homeless in Muskogee.
“I was hungry and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave me drink; I was a stranger and you invited me in; I was naked and you clothed me” – Matthew 25:35-36
The GRM Building at 326 S 2nd St has been the home of the mission since the 1940s.
