History & Future

The History

The Gospel Rescue Mission (GRM) was founded in 1931 in the heights of the Great Depression and the beginning of the infamous dustbowl.  Ever since then GRM has been the Muskogee Area’s primary resource to help those who are struggling in the crisis of hunger, homelessness and hopelessness.

Matthew 25:35-36 has been the guiding message for the mission since it’s founding and is carried out each month through the serving 3,000 meals, clothing over a hundred individuals, and providing over 1,100 bed-nights to the homeless in Muskogee.

“I was hungry and you gave me something to eat; I   was thirsty and you gave me drink; I was a stranger   and you invited me in; I was naked and you clothed   me” – Matthew 25:35-36

Today

Gospel Rescue Mission is located at 323 Callahan with a beautiful building The Miller Family Center for Life Change.  Our goal is to be a hand up to those in poverty to experience more of the abundant life that Jesus talks about.  Stop by for a tour and discover what love in action looks like.

The Future

We look to expand Rescue services and more both north and south of Muskogee along the Highway 69 corridor.  We have a plan that can help each community reduce the number of people in poverty.  Click below to learn more and have someone come and visit your community to offer the help that you are looking for:

CASE PLAN TO HELP COMMUNITIES REDUCE POVERTY

In 2020 we expect to break ground on a new Life Recovery facility where we will offer a full range of services to help men and women overcome addictions and discover a new healthy life.

For now imagine a man or woman or family coming to the above facility experiencing homelessness, hunger and hopelessness and leaving OWNING a home, able to FEED themselves and full of HOPE for the future.  All living on their own with no individual government benefits and members of one of our great local churches.

You can help make that happen.
